We have received the sad news that the NXL Spanish Open will not go ahead as planned, and will now be delayed until October, The official notice from the NXL is below;

After careful consideration and several days of monitoring the evolving international travel restrictions and advisories in many countries, the NXL has taken the precautionary decision to postpone indefinitely the NXL Europe Spanish Open 2020.

Increasing uncertainty about the cross-border movement of our players, vendors, and staff forces us to consider everyone’s safety and well being and the dire impact a last-minute cancellation may have on participants traveling abroad. We have determined it is unavoidable that the April event must be canceled without further delay.

We appreciate the support and constructive input many of our players and sponsors have provided during this challenging period. The well-being of our players, sponsors, and staff is our priority. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Prague for our season opener this May.

The Spanish Government has communicated to all federations that sport, professional and non-professional, with a large number of followers must be held behind closed doors from now on due to the coronavirus. This has been confirmed by the Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, after the Council of Ministers.
